Job Overview
The Controller is responsible for preparing and reporting financial performance results to meet internal and external financial reporting requirements, field inquiries and prepare periodic presentations of results. Assist the director of finance with preparation of financial plans, forecasts, budgets, and the maintenance of its fiscal records. The Controller has responsibility for ensuring effective financial controls. The position oversees the financial processing, reconciling, and reporting for the company.
Responsibilities and Duties
Overseeing all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and variance analyses, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
Consolidate and report the monthly and YTD brand financial performances.
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
Research technical accounting issues for compliance
Support month-end and year-end close process.
Support the preparation of presentations and materials for executive and board meetings, providing meaningful insights and recommendations.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Additional controller duties as necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited University/college is required.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles after internship.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Need to be creative, adaptable, and able to accurately handle out-of-the-ordinary micro issues with a sense of urgency.
- Tech sensitive, capable of proposing innovative solutions to facilitate data collection, data analysis and data sharing in the organization.
- Previous experience with Priority an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with many different departments and Managers.
- Excel prodigy.
- Fluency in English is a must.
